John Katerberg
John has been involved with water polo in Grandville for the better part of 15 years. Having 3 kids play from Middle school thru High School. He currently is the Grandville water polo scoreboard operator. He has a true love for the sport and is looking forward to seeing it grow in the greater Grand Rapids area


Vice President
J.R. VanderWall
J.R. has been involved with water polo since the mid 90's. He played at Rockford High School, University of Massachusetts, Grand Valley State University and with several club teams, including being a founding-father of the local 616 Masters Water Polo team. J.R. also has coached and officiated at various levels and now has 2 children playing water polo for both Grandville and the Great Lakes Aquatics Program. No stranger to the pool, J.R. has many connections in the water polo world and will serve this board in a great capacity.

Carrie Gabrielse
Carrie has been around water polo for about 4 years when her daughter Sam was the only ‘sevie’ on the middle school mixed team. Being around sports since her girls were little, seeing Sam love this sport made her want to be further involved. She’s been around Great Lakes Aquatics for 2 years and on the board since 2022.

Heather has been involved in Water Polo in the Grandville community since her daughter, Annabelle, began learning about the sport in the 5th grade. Watching her daughter and the high school team play this amazing sport is one of Heather's favorite past times.

Matt Corl
Matt is new to water polo but watching his daughter, Lara, play as a freshman last year he fell in love instantly. He has volunteered in Grandville Little League as a coach and board member. Coached youth teams in Grandville basketball, lacrosse, and soccer. Matt has been a board member of multiple organizations over the years and will do his best to bring ideas and enthusiasm to grow water polo. He is excited to introduce and steward new generations of players and fans to water polo.
